The BIG AHS Choir Meeting

The BIG AHS Choir Meeting was a tremendous success! Ms. Taylor extends her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who was able to attend. Despite a last-minute venue change to the choir room, the space was filled with an incredible sense of support, enthusiasm, and community.

During the meeting, Ms. Taylor highlighted the vital role fundraising plays in the success of the choir program. She shared that her own musical journey was made possible through the generosity of others, underscoring the impact that community support can have on students' lives. Fundraising efforts help offset the costs of music, events, supplies, travel, and other program needs, ensuring that every student has access to the same opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive. The 2025-2026 Voice Teachers introduced themselves and shared their backgrounds, highlighting the important role they play in helping students develop both vocal skills and the confidence needed to succeed in auditions and performances. Private voice lessons provide individualized instruction that can improve singing ability, diction, stage presence, and overall musicianship while helping students prepare for opportunities such as All-State auditions, UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest, choir concerts, and more. Ms. Taylor reflected on the recent closure of the Murchison Middle School Choir program, noting that it was where her teaching journey began and where many students first discover and develop their love of choral music. She emphasized that the middle school program has long served as a foundation for the success of Anderson Choir students, planting the seeds that later flourish on the high school stage. While reviving the Murchison Choir program will require a long-term commitment and collaborative effort, there is hope for its future. Stay tuned for updates and opportunities to support this important initiative.

Ms. Taylor requires three forms to be completed for each student. While these forms were distributed to students and made available at the meeting, any families who have not yet received or submitted them can find all required forms on the AHS Choir website. Please complete and return them as soon as possible to ensure your student is fully registered and ready for choir activities.
