Directors notes: april part 3

Hello choir family!

As of today, Governor Abbott has determined that school buildings remain closed for the remainder of this school year. Online learning will continue. TEA supports this decision and Dr Cruz and Austin ISD have agreed with the decision. This combined with previous information about not having large group gatherings means that our usual end of year choir activities will not be happening or will look differently.

Spring Trip to Six Flags – Cancelled: a separate email will go out to families involved in this

Spring Concert/Senior Celebration at Anderson & Choir Banquet at Doubletree - Cancelled

We are still doing a program/keepsake! Since we can’t do these events in person, we will be changing what the program/keepsake looks like. We still want to create something that looks beautiful and that our students, particularly our seniors, can have to remember their time in the Anderson choir program. We will be adding some aspects of our banquet into this program as well.

Things we need:

1 Seniors NEED to get their photos and blurbs sent to me by April 24

2 Parents of seniors – an email went out asking for interest in senior ads.

Please respond to that email if interested as we are still doing the program.

3 Students – soon, we will be asking for you to send in photos from any choir activity

that happened this year. We want to have a large variety of photos to include.

Madrigal & Chamber Concert at St Matthew’s Church – Cancelled

Graduation performance at Frank Erwin Center – Postponed to Aug 12

A Virtual Graduation is in the planning stages for mid-June.

We are looking into options of how we can include the choir in the virtual graduation. I don’t have more details at this time or who/how many people it would involve, but will be getting information out in the next week or two.
