4. Choir Placements for 2019-2020
We will be doing our placements for next year’s choirs in 2 weeks. This will happen during classes and is not done in front of other students. This evaluation consists of the students singing their part within a song, a pitch matching component and a sight reading component. This is then combined with an evaluation of the student’s class participation and growth throughout the year as well as their grades to determine the best place for each student to be placed.
5. Choir Auditions for Chamber Choir & Madrigal Singers
Any current 9th, 10th or 11th grade choir student may audition to be in these choirs. Auditions will consist of 2 parts. First, tudents will sing their voice part while other students sing their voice part on an a cappella madrigal song. Second, they will sing a 30 second cut of a song of their choice to demonstrate facial expression and vocal flexibility. These auditions will happen during a number of FIT sessions.
